Over the years, Wendy and I have seen our fair share of sales leadership coaches. And, to be perfectly honest, most leave us reminiscent of the sleazy used car salesman. Those of you who’ve had the occasion to get to know Wendy and me a bit, are familiar that we chose to master the art of the soft sale. Since we’re so turned off by the “buy my shit or die” approach … we’ve taken careful measure to never present our wares in that fashion.
Well … what a breath of fresh air it was to listen to Thomas’ presentation recently! Thomas presented a fantastic approach to sales that truly guides you (the salesperson) to not only better understand yourself, but more importantly understand your prospect. By aligning this understanding with how your products and services serve your customers, you’re able to close more deals.
Admittedly, there is nothing revolutionary about Thomas’ approach (nor does he claim there to be). It is based on the work of Carl Jung and Myers Briggs personality types. I was first exposed to these methodologies twenty –five years ago; and I maintain this as the foundation that grew my ability to not only communicate more effectively, but truly enjoy all types of people. Even those with a propensity to drive me buggy! Never the less, Thomas’ program has taken a truly complex set of ideas, and organized it in a way that makes it easy to understand. …And, even easier to implement into your sales process.
