Have You Claimed Your Business in Google Maps Yet?
Do It Before Someone Else Beats You to It!
Your listing is a free service in Google Maps. I'm certain that you've seen it in action when you've done a search on Google. It is the part of the search results near the top, where a map is shown, and a list of businesses and their locations are displayed.
Claim your Google Maps listing, so the listing will be controlled by you. Not doing so creates a risk of your listing being hijacked by devious spammers/affiliates.
Unscrupulous thieves find unclaimed listings, and then use the edit link to change the contact information. After which they are able to redirect the link to their website instead of yours. If this happens to your listing ... it is nearly impossible to obtain the listing back.
Be proactive ... claim your Google Maps listing right away. Sign into Google and claim your listing through the
Local Business Center.
