Google Bulletin is a new app created by Google that allows you to easily create and post new stories that appear both on the application, as well as in web search results. Bulletin stories are easily found also through social networks, email links and messaging apps. Google calls this news “hyperlocal” because it’s reach is focused on small local areas.
Although Google Bulletin is only being beta tested in Nashville, TN and Oakland, CA, it is important to keep this new app on your radar if you’re are a small local business.
We believe that with the demise of national news media, Facebook’s shift to focusing more on local communities, as well as the growth of local social networks such as nextdoor.com; Google sees an opportunity to fill the local news gap.
